Aotearoa Surf Film Festival
Welcome to the 13th annual Aotearoa Surf Film Festival
Come one, come all. As Autumn rolls around, the water temp drops, the swells build and the ASFF tour rolls into a town near you for that yearly dose of salt water cinema and surfing stoke.
Back again for our 13th year, we have an incredible lineup of films on offer from New Zealand and across the world.

Skunked screening
We’re excited to be hosting the premiere screening of “Skunked”, a surf film by Isaac Chadwick.
Doors open at 7pm, the film will screen at 9pm, and then DJ Matt King will play from 9.30pm.
Whangamata Brewers' Festival
We’re excited to bring the first annual Whangamata Brewers’ Festival to you!
Join us for a session of meeting the brewers and tasting beers and spirits from some of the Coromandel, Waikato and Bay of Plenty’s best. We’ll have Salt District Brewing, Manaia Craft Brewing, Mount Brewing Co, Bootleg Brewery, Alchemy Street Brewing, Coromandel Distilling, Kaimai Distilling and Patrons Brewing Co joining us for an afternoon of good drinks and vibes.
We’ll also have Banh Mi Caphe and The Burger Lab joining us, so make sure you come hungry!
Choose your session time:
12pm - 2pm
2.30pm - 4.30pm
5pm - 7pm
On arrival, you’ll receive your own beer glass to use throughout the festival to taste and purchase some tasty brews.
Brewers will also have products to purchase for ‘takeaway’ for you to enjoy at home. These items will be collected at the end of the session and must remained sealed until you are home as Whangamata will have a liquor ban in place.

Our final summer flow is at 9am this Sunday!
Join us for a Yoga or Pilates flow with some of our favourite teachers and finish off with a fresh juice from Whangamata Organics.

At Home Art Exhibition
At Home is a group exhibition featuring three Whangamata artists: Lena McKillop, Dianna Smith, and Heather Watt. This unique collaboration features diverse works spanning photography, mixed media, and oil painting.

Italian Long Lunch with Pasta Paradiso
Last time was so good, that we’re doing it again! Get your friends together and enjoy a three course menu of delicious Italian food by Pasta Paradiso.
Welcomed with an arrival Zoncello Limoncello Spritz, you will be treated to a selection of starters, fresh handmade pasta and finished off with a yummy dessert!

Recovery Sessions with Sulis Tubs x The Sauna Project
Start the new year off right and join us for a recovery session with Sulis Ice Bath and The Sauna Project. Enjoy an hour session of contrast therapy - sweat it out in the woodfired sauna and then immerse yourself in the ice bath. Finish off your session with a recovery mocktail - there’s nothing a Virgin Bloody Mary or detox shot can’t fix! Leave feeling refreshed and rejuvenated, ready to start 2025 on the right foot.
Sessions are on the hour, beginning at 8am - 12pm, and then 3pm - 5pm.
There are 9 spots available per session. Please wear your swimsuit and bring a water bottle and towel with you.
Please also arrive 5 minutes before your session time for a briefing.

Join us for our Christmas Eve morning market, to stock up on delicious foods and flowers ahead of your Christmas Entertaining. We’re excited to have Volare Bread, Olive Jay Cakes, Flowers and Fantails, Cathedral Cove Macadamias, Opito Bay Salt, Pip and Pops Honey and Coromandel Cheese join us for the morning.

Birth of The Endless Summer x Papa Salt
Papa Salt proudly presents Birth of The Endless Summer, a new feature documentary from Curtis Birch and Emmy®-nominated director Richard Yelland, in association with Oscar®-nominated Bruce Brown Films. The multi-award-winning film explores the origin story behind Brown’s timeless classic The Endless Summer.
Featuring appearances by surfing icons Robert August, Mike Hynson, Rob Machado, Kelly Slater, Pat O’Connell, and many more, Birth of The Endless Summer provides a deep dive into surfing history. Director Richard Yelland noted, “I created this film to connect people with the history of surfing and inspire a wider audience. It’s a significant piece of pop culture celebrating the pursuit of dreams.”
Birth of The Endless Summer spans over four years of production and more than 60 years of surfing history, chronicling the remarkable journey of surf pioneer Dick Metz. The documentary follows Metz’s discovery of South Africa’s emerging surf scene during his global hitchhiking adventure, which began in 1958 in Laguna Beach, California and led Metz, and subsequently his friend Bruce Brown, to the iconic “Perfect Wave” at Cape St. Francis for The Endless Summer.

Miss Polly’s Kitchen book launch and cooking demonstration
